conservative talk radio, the marketplace is too stupid to decide what it
wants.  In other words, you’re too stupid.
Let me put this another way. Our national parks are held in a
public trust and managed by several Federal agencies.  Let’s say 60
families from New Jersey drive to Yosemite National Park and 60 families
fly there from New Mexico.  There are only 100 camping reservations left
for the night and 120 families want to camp.
Does the National Park Service allow the first ones there to pay for
a camping spot – even if all 60 families from New Jersey get there first?
Or, does the government only permit 50 families from each state – no
matter what order of arrival - because that’s the “fair” thing to do when
overseeing a public trust?  Well, it happens to be first come, first served
and the government doesn’t interfere with the free market of camping
reservations.
As I wrote for an article at radio.about.com in 2008:
“Insisting that every opinion be countered by an opposing opinion
is a condescending insult to the listener who is free to seek out as many or
as few opinions as he or she wishes to hear.
This is key: while it is the duty of government to insure no opinion
is restrained in the holder's attempt to convey his thoughts to potential
listeners, it is not the job of the government to insure every opinion is
equally heard by every participant in a discussion.”

If the only way you can get your point across is by forcing
someone to listen, then basically you’re guilty of water boarding
someone’s brain with your ideology - which is surprising since we all
know how liberals feel about water boarding.
