City.  I wrote, edited, and published it myself using a base model
eMachine computer with a hard drive that whines louder than Joy Behar
during The View.  The cover could be better and as much as I’ve tried to
clean up mistakes, you may uncover a typo. You’ve heard of operating on
a shoestring?  This was loafer cheap.
But, I love self-publishing because it means I don’t need the
approval of some big company to get my ideas out there and I’m free to
succeed or fail on my own.  That’s exactly how I feel about big
government too:  I don’t need Uncle Sam interfering with my success or
failure. Just get out of my way and let me use the opportunities America
has laid before me.
Self-publishing is very Republican.
If you’re one of the millions of average, reasonable, conservatives
in America like me then I think you’ll enjoy the opinions I’ve presented
which I have lanced with my usual brand of satire and humor.  I poke fun
at liberals, conservatives, and even myself.  And although I have serious
points to make, no matter what I write I always find myself sabotaging my
remarks with some kind of wisecrack.  I can’t help it; it’s my approach to
life.  Just when you think I couldn’t get more serious, I’ll change tack and
sputter off on some stupid tangent.  Again, I blame that Gemini birth
thing.
Not everybody can write a book and maybe not everyone should.
But, if you agree with what you read in mine then let this book be your
book.   If what I have written speaks to you, then pass it along or send
someone the link to buy their own copy.  If this book becomes a grass-
roots success, it will generate attention for our ideas – and our
conservatism.  If you believe that our country is losing its way on a
slippery path toward socialism and government intrusion, it is then our
duty to make as much noise as we can.
I wasn’t always a conservative. On the contrary: I was the perfect
cause-supporting son of middle-class Democrats who escaped Brooklyn to
